Chile Resorts

When the snow has melted in the north it's time to head to the southern hemisphere where the ski season runs from June to October. Two resorts - Valle Nevado and Portillo are both within a day trip distance from Santiago. Chile's newest ski center is located atop Volcan Osorno in the southern part of the country.

Chapa Verde Ski Club is a non profit ski area located 56 km from Rancagua, Chile. The ski area has a relaxed, less crowded vibe. Ski season runs mid-June through to mid-October. The center has individual cabins for renting.

El Colorado Ski Resort is located 36 km from Santiago. Ski season runs from June to early October. With 112 tracks it is considered one of the best ski centers in South America.

La Parva Ski Resort is nestled in the Andes less than 1 hour from Santiago. The resort is described as a cozy mountain village with modern buildings that appear to hang on the slopes. It has served as a training center for international teams.

Located near the village of Las Trancas, there are actually two resorts Nevados and Valle Hermoso. The resort offers varied terrain, catskiing, hotsprings ande deep powder. The ski area received an annual snowfall of 10 meters (32 feet!). Cat skiing and backcountry touring is some of the best in South America. Nevados de Chillan is open 12 months a year and is the most visited mountain resort in the country.
